By now you know I’m into music…..but……I’m also into having better ringtones than all of you! I’m not talking about ringtones with actual words though, strictly instrumental. Shouts to Coop who stays heavy in the ringtone game but has no problems with his phone blasting off some ol’ R&B jams in public when his girl calls him. I can’t get jiggy with that. So for the first one I’m going with T.I.’s Watch What You Say. You can play it below and download it if you like it. They’re typically 30 seconds in length and then repeat after that.

For Android users you just save it to your phone in a folder called ringtones and you should then be able to pick it as a ringtone. For you i*hone uses, sorry…..I don’t know or care so you’ll have to take care of that on your own. Ask Siri or something.

First off shouts to whoever the guy was at the beach last night blasting this on his portable boom box while waiting to play his softball game. I was immediately hooked on this cover as soon as I heard it. Pissed off that I didn’t know about it already I refused to ask him who the artist was. I went home, hit Google and here is what I found out. The beat is from a track by a Dutch hip-hop group called King Bee, not sure if it was around before them though. The original track was called Back By Dope Demand. This is from Wikipedia:

Huffington Post – If you take the words of a 2-year-old and put them in the mouth of a grown man, suddenly the malevolence and intimidation really shine through. Matthew Clarke has launched a new series called “Convos With My 2-Year-Old” where he takes actual conversations he’s had with his daughter and reenacts them with an adult man standing in for her. The result is hilariously creepy. Watch episode one above.

The easy answer here would be: not even close. Sandy Alderson’s whole mission since he was hired was to put together a viable team for 2014. We’ve saying for months that the thing to root for as a Mets fan this year was that they’d identify a core to move forward with. But with the struggles of Ike Davis, Ruben Tejada, Jonathan Niese, and every young outfielder that has been given an audition this year, it’s easy to say the future looks hopeless. So let me make a case for some things the Mets can do to compete in 2014…

1. Move On From Ike Davis: We been saying from day 1 of the Ike Davis era in New York that the hitches in this guy’s swing were going to catch up with him. Well, his play, including a current 1-32 stretch, shows why you should start believing we know what we’re talking about. My solution might surprise you, but I think the answer is Justin Morneau. I know he hasn’t been the same player since the concussion a few years ago, but he’s hitting over .300 and I think the price for him will be lower than people are predicting. Most of the big market teams that would normally bid on a guy like Morneau are already committed to a 1B: the Dodgers have A-Gone; Yankees have Tex; Cubs have Rizzo; Phillies have Howard; Angels have Pujols; Red Sox have Napoli, who can’t move to DH because Big Papi continues to rake. Morneau will give the Mets a reliable middle of the order bat to protect Wright, something they haven’t had since the Beltran trade.

2. Get a Couple of Actual Major League OFs: The most coveted free agents are going to be Grandy and Elsbury, but I’m not naive enough to think the Mets will go that deep into their wallets for either one of those guys. So my realistic replacements are Chris Young and David Murphy. Listen, I know these guys have both struggled this year, but we’re talking about the Mets here so I’m just telling it like it is. Young has shown glimpses of 30-30 potential, and David Murphy was a big part of the Rangers offense in the past few years, albeit in a limited role. So lets throw Young in center and Murphy in left, and see if they can live up to their potential.

3. Call up Zack Wheeler in August to Give Him a Glimpse of the Majors: If we’re going to buy into the notion that the Mets can compete next year, Zack Wheeler has to succeed right away at the Major League level. So give him 7-8 starts this year so he gets the jitters out in some meaningless games. If he can step in as a real SP next year, a 1-2-3 of Harvey, Niese and Wheeler gives them one of the best young staffs in the league.

With these moves, they’re looking at an opening day lineup of:

1. Chris Young
2. Daniel Murphy
3. David Wright
4. Justin Morneau
5. David Murphy
6. Travis D’arnaud (oh yeah, he has to pan out too…)
7. Lucas Duda
8. Ruben Tejada

Not exactly murderer’s row, but this lineup can compete. And none of these signings are going to be out of their price range. Will they be good enough to make a playoff run? Maybe. But maybe is a lot better than what their prospects are right now.

As it stands now this is the first story that shows up on their homepage……and they wonder why people keep cancelling their subscription. Seriously, look at that picture! Closer to George Washington on the dollar bill than Jesus. I could take a piss on the ground and construct a better image of the big guy. Give me a break.
